The Tale of a Thousand and One Nights is interpreted by Dutch painter and illustrator Kees Van Dongen in over one hundred full-page original black and white line drawings and seven full-page color plates, colored in pochoir by master Jean Saudé. Characteristically humorous and mildly erotic, this fully illustrated volume also features four censored drawings which were considered too risqué to be published with the book at the time. Overall in very good condition: pages very clean. The cover has slight water damage, it does not affect the interior.
